Orbis Skinny Harems Blog Tour

OrbisSneak.jpgI am one of the last stops on the Orbis Skinny Harems* Tour. I know, I know. My last post was a post that included the Orbis Skinny Harems, but I only made some for my son.  Those that know me know I love to have my kids matching.  So I had to participate.  I like having them match without matching.  You know what I mean?

We just got the pattern back from One Thimble and we needed to have a homecoming.  The blog tour has been running all week and there have been some really great  contributions.

I knew both of my mini humans were getting new Orbis pants, and I knew both were going to get matching shirts.  I had such mental block I couldn’t figure out what fabric to use.  Then I talked to Anne.  She was no help.  She talked me out of the shirts I was originally going to make.

I knew which fabric I was using for my daughter, but I could not figure out what I was using for my son.  I made a mess of my sewing area trying to figure out what fabric I was going to use.  Then I remembered I got a yard of stars on an aqua background from Mabel Madison and that was it. I knew what I was using.  Stars and Stripes.

The pockets on these pants are so awesome and they need fabric that stands out (not really, but that’s how I roll).  Even though there are 2 pockets it’s actually just one piece.  I mean it’s just genius.

My kids love their pants. I made them both with the drawstring.  I sewed it down in the back on Lil Miss’s because she’s destructive.

For my son’s shirt I made him an Omni Tempore*.  This was the first pattern of Sofilantjes that I tested and I have been around ever since (she can’t get rid of me).  My son has long since grown out of that one and he has grown out of the 2nd one I’ve made him, but he refuses to give that one up, so I made him a new one.  Needless to say he’s very happy with it.

Lil Miss has an Otium* on.  I love the diagonal pocket on this shirt, and so does she.  Between the pocket on the Otium and the pocket on the Orbis pants she has more than enough storage space for whatever little treasures she finds.  Mainly her small Thomas and Friends engines and her brothers toy cars…

I just love their outfits. All of the fabric in my son’s and the stripes and Orbis fabric on my daughter is from Mabel Madison.

  1. O no, I just HAVE TO HAVE that fabric you used for your girl. I’m totally in love with it! Maybe it’s also her cutie-factor that influences it a little bit…
