Sew Long Summer

I can’t believe that summer is already over.  It JUST started. I haven’t even done everything I wanted to do this summer.  I have 5 more days to try and cram 3 months worth of activities. Suffice to say I think it’s a wash.  Time to get ready for fall. My favorite season.  I am not a fan of the heat. I am not a fan of humidity. I’m pretty miserable in the summer. Unless, I am at the beach.

I saw the call for bloggers for a Sew Long to Summer Tour. The idea of this tour is to sew something for fall/winter or sew something you’ve been sewing all summer and just kept putting off, or whatever your heart desired.  I thought this was a fun theme, so I joined in.

Last July, I was on Pinterest a.k.a. The Devil and during one of my searches I found a blog post for a snap scarf by Delia Creates.

I was in love at first sight.  I ran out later that week to go find some fabric, get the leather and heavy duty snaps.  I was gung ho and ready to make this scarf, so I would be ready for the cold weather.  I had visions of me, my scarf, my husband and kids apple and pumpkin picking. My scarf and I running into the store for last minute items for Thanksgiving dinner. My scarf and my family going Christmas tree shopping. My scarf and I Christmas present shopping. Oh!?! I’m the only one that does that? I have an active imagination, but my scarf and I were very busy come the start of fall.

Well, needless to say the scarf was never made. Christmas presents, clothes for the kids, random things for the house all got created.  My scarf, that was going to make me feel like Wonder Woman, was still in pieces.

I was back and forth about what I was going to make for this tour.  Then I remembered MY SCARF!!! So no skirt for the Little Diva. No sweatshirt for my son. No henley for my husband. I WAS GOING TO MAKE MY SCARF!!!

The directions are very easy to follow and in just a few minutes and very minimal supplies you have an awesome scarf. It’s just as awesome as I imagined it would be.  Now I just have to figure out how to wrap it HAHAHAHAHA!
