Christmas in July with EYMM

We are so happy to be a part of EYMM’s Christmas in July Blog tour. When I got home from work today my daughter was on the couch under a blanket laying on the pillows.  All she needed was some hot chocolate.  I thought OH! She’s mentally preparing herself.  My awesome little model was ready to go.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but during the holiday season we have SO MANY events, and not all of them are dress friendly.  Some are very casual.  So I decided to make her a cute top that can be dressed up or down for Christmas events. In walked the Girl’s Piko Top*. The Piko Top has 3 hem options and 3 hem lengths.  I chose the side tail hem and the long sleeves.

The listing said it was a quick sew.  Every time I see that my first thought is “YEAH RIGHT!”.  So color me surprised that it really was a quick sew.

Picture it Sicily 19…  Sorry, I love The Golden Girls. Picture it, you have yet another Christmas event. Your daughter has nothing to wear to go make cookies and still look festive.  This top will take you literally an hour from cut to sew.

We usually have at least 3 Meet Santa events, she will be in pre-school this year, so there’s the school Christmas Party, there are also Christmas parties with friends and family.  We also go to community holiday events and last but not least the firemen come around dressed as Santa.  As you can see we are in desperate need of casual holiday wear.

She loves her new top and the Art Gallery Bucks scream Christmas. No?  I added an inch to the length and didn’t hem the sleeves.  I’m hoping we don’t have any crazy growth spurts, because this top is too cute. If she does grow out of it… No worries it only takes an hour to make!
